Day light savings time… I’m 55 and really don’t understand this concept. Sure, I understand the original intent, I suppose. We still exercise this practice.
In business, don’t you want to simply ‘spring ahead’? How awesome would it be if you could simply make a call, read a book, or slightly rotate a dial to jump your business ahead? Instantly have more customers, more sales, and more profit! More free time. More peace knowing your team is running, and even growing your business, while you’re away!
We do that with our clocks every year. But that doesn’t work in business, or your health, or your skills, or your finances, or your relationships, or any number of other things. There’s no silver bullet. There’s no magic pill. There’s no revolutionary strategy. And the grass isn’t really greener on the other side! The difference is you, and what you’re willing to do to achieve what you want. It boils down to a few questions and your answers to each:
- What do you seriously want?
- Is it seriously possible?
- What are you seriously willing to do to achieve it?
And question #2 is generally based on a limited mindset. The question is not ‘is it likely?’ In most cases, you don’t know what you don’t know. So it is likely possible, you just don’t know how.
It takes focus and hard work. Those stories of that lucky guy that’s got an awesome business with overnight success? Ask him about his story. How many years of preparation, hard work has he put in? Who has he had to become to achieve that level of success? Ignore the marketing for the quick fix to spring ahead. Decide and commit to the process, and just start.
